The following list of legal requirements are needed only for legal marriage. The Secrets Silversands Wedding Coordinator must receive the following documents to begin the application for marriage in the Civil Registry Office.
- Bride, Groom and four witnesses must arrive in Cancun four business days prior to the wedding day (Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays do not count). Symbolic and non-legal ceremonies allow flexibility for arrival date. Please speak with the wedding coordinator to discuss requirements
- Tourist Card (Couple and guests will receive them upon arrival at Cancun International Airport).
- If Bride or Groom are divorced, they will need to provide their original Birth Certificates and copy of the Final Divorce Decree both with the stamps (Le Apostille) of the Registry of your Country. This document must be translated into Spanish and the cost is $50.00 USD + 11% tax per each birth certificate.
- Translation must be done in Mexico, otherwise will not be valid.
- Valid Passports
- Blood Test $300 USD + tax - The test cannot be taken more than 14 days prior to the ceremony and must be taken in Mexico. The blood will be tested for HIV, STD's (sexually transmitted diseases) and blood type. The results will be ready in 24 hours along with a certificate of the blood test. The blood test fee must be paid directly to the Wedding Coordinator in cash or credit card the day the test is taken.
- Judge's transportation fee. Round trip from the city is $90 USD and must be paid directly to the Judge on the wedding date.
- The names, addresses, nationalities, ages, occupation, relationship, copy of a tourist card and a valid identification of the four witnesses. Wedding Coordinator will send you the legal form. The witnesses can be anyone with a valid passport.
- The Marriage Certificate is only valid in Mexico. In order to make it legal internationally, the Wedding Coordinator will send a copy of the Marriage License to the Validation Process. The fee will be $100 USD+tax. The process will take up to 2-4 months. Once the document is Apostilled, the resort will send all documentation to couples home address.
